Gigantoraptor was an interesting inclusion in the Cretaceous Predator Pack. Not only is it an interesting creature that stands out in the current roster, but it did launch rather incomplete. Many players noted how it really did not show any predatory behaviors outside of fighting other dinosaurs, with only later patches to introduce the necessary hunting animation for small herbivores, goats, and guests.
One interesting note was that it was written in the patch notes that the gigantoraptor also hunted small carnivores too, which was an odd thing as I have not experienced or seen anyone show gigantoraptors hunting small carnivores at all, which means it was not an animation players and content creators were searching for, or it wasn't fully implemented yet.
Only 10 hours ago reddit user u/JerryDaJoker_YT shared a photo of the gigantoraptor hunting an atrociraptor, which was the first time I have seen this animation in effect. It may have been recently introduced in a recent patch alongside the Stegoceratops thagomizer animation as part of Update 10, but it really is something special.
This is the first time in a long time that a small predatory carnivore is prey to another larger carnivore, the first time was when the Tyrannosaurus rex hunted the Velociraptor with the RTJP DLC and Update in JWE1. Only this time, not only is the hunting animation fluid and dynamic like most other hunting animations in JWE2, but the small carnivores in question could still pack hunt the gigantoraptor. This is literally a hunt or be hunted behavior dynamic that has not been observed in the course of JWE 1+2.

I love that such a mechanic is possible with Jurassic World Evolution 2. It brings me back to how predators in JPOG hunted other predators if the other predator is small enough to be prey, be it velociraptor, dilophosaurus, or ceratosaurus. It is a mechanic that supports the element of chaos, because you do not know what the outcome would be, especially in the scenario where carnivores of different sizes meet.
This also takes me back to when unused hunting animations of the T-rex hunting a pentaceratops and a Velociraptor hunting a Dracorex surfaced in reddit last year. The link will be shared below if you want to observe:

Armored herbivores would always fight back against predators, even at a disadvantage, and small combat herbivores like the pachycephalosaurs used to be hunted in JWE1 before the mechanic was overwritten to make them only fight back against small carnivores.
If JWE3 were to happen, and if these animations are anything to go by, this could be opening itself to some cool results with an updated hunting mechanic, where predators could be prey, when prey would become predators, and when armored herbivores could actually choose flight over fight if the opposition is too much for them. I would love to see this be expanded on in the sequel, where dinosaurs could become prey if they are too young and inexperienced, or are too handicapped or underpowered to fight back. Plus the thought of small and medium carnivores being seen as a prey option could make any ensuing chaos in the park much more random and chaotic. Metricanthosaurus for example is a dangerous animal, but when confronting a fully grown Tyrannosaurus rex, she may be perceived as nothing more than another source of protein.
