High intensity extraction RES sites fixed for bounty hunting since update.

I've also found less activity than expected in the High Intensity RES. Prior to the 1.3 patch many of them seemed to have at least an wanted anaconda or two pass through, but since the patch I see nothing more than Eagles, Sidewinders and Adders (mostly). Have yet to see a single Anaconda since the patch in any of the RES I've visited, unless they were Authority / Federation ships hunting the small prey that the rest of us were.

Normal Resource Extraction Sites do still exist and you can still exploit them for an endless stream of Anacondas, Clippers, Dropships and Pythons if that is your preferred gameplay. Lower and High Intensity sites were added and changed to give Miners a sure place to find rocks worthy of mining not increase the income of the bounty train.

Security of the system does seem to make a difference now as well as was stated.

I thought Michael Brooks stated that both high and low intensity points are bugged atm, so it might be a good idea to try regular ones?

Since the patch I have only had time to check out two regular RES in medium security systems and they both spawned pythons, clippers and dropships...

arn't you glad then that you still can farm,
and that no one is forcing you to join PP or making you spend half your time in SC hunting targets.

i have been working on writing a full extensive guide to bounty hunting in 1.3.
but im seriously starting to consider not releasing it to the public if people continue being daft about this.

Please do it.

There are many of us who enjoy and learn from your findings.

Cheers.

well i tried High Intensity Conflict Zone... wow much harder than res... the ships are hard to kill, they hardly get damage

i killed an anaconda worth 72,000cr ... i had to use 3 chaffs and 2 shield cells on my Clipper before i killed it. da fuq christ.

Do you remember its combat rating?

It doesn't really need any explaining. You take the missions hunt the targets, get paid for the missions and the bounty. The higher your combat rating the better the mission pays. At a RES you just wait for a wanted ship.

Good luck when the RES ends up like the screenshot a few posts above yours. Don't get me wrong, I do like the much improved missions, and killing 12 pirates for a 500k extra payment is nice until one realizes that the system must feature a way to find pirates in the first place. In some systems there is not even a local pirate gang so you would have to sit at the nav point and kill the odd corporate ship that happens to be a pirate yet still not fired from its job (have fun with the rep loss if the corporation isn't system authority or aligned with it through a major faction).

It means that when I see a lucrative combat mission, I need to check the target type (pirate = good), then the system, has it RES candidates (metallic or metal-rich rings), and has it an actual pirate faction. As soon as just one of these criteria is not met, the mission is hardly worth the hassle.
