High Intensity Resource Extraction Site

disclaimer: i could be completely wrong or it's all just a conspiracy

So since 1.3, i've done some bounty hunting in high intenity resource extraction sites since 'as told on wiki' it has a high expected spawn size and rate. I was expecting pythons and anaconda AI, but for the few hours i did some hunting i only encountered adders, cobras and eagles. (mostly been doing this at LTT15574)

Am I at the wrong spot or am i doing something wrong? :)
Thanks for help

Log off and on until the first wanted ship you see is a clipper/dropship/python/vulture, and if you have time go find the big thread about it and contribute to the discussion of how stupid it is to have to do that :p

Agreed if you can a big ship as your first kill - they just keep coming!

so if i understand correctly, i just have to log in over and over again untill i find a big ship and only other big ships will spawn? strange but okey

As far as I know there used to be three types of spawns prior to 1.3: small ships, big ships and a mixed mode. This still seems to be the case and you can "reset" an instance by going to supercruise and jumping back in again (or as these people have mentioned you can simply log out and then log in again). For all intents and purposes it would probably be more convenient if RES spawns were always set to mixed mode.

It is a bit silly; the reason it's like this is that each time you log in the server is spinning up a new instance of the RES for you (assuming you're in solo or are the first player in the open instance), and each instance of a RES has a (invisible) flag that determines whether small, a mix of small and large, or large ships predominate. By logging in and out you're basically resetting the RES until you get one flagged to generate mostly large ships.

I can confirm this works! Just be ready for a fight!

Which is an idiotic mechanism now we have RES's with low or high intensities - I think there should be just one sort of instance, a mixture of big ships and smaller ships in wings but the ranking of the NPC pilots should reflect the chosen RES type.

Even with big ships the HiRES is still too easy in a 20million credit Vulture, I can flit about in a HiRES for hours easily racking up over 10 million in bounties. Perhaps the spawned ships could get stronger and the wing size could increase as time goes by. Surviving an hour in a RES should be the exception rather than the norm.

Every day for the past 10 days I've been mining in HI RES. Never saw wanted target bigger than clipper.
Sure I dont reset the instance because I am there for mining not bounty hunting but still...

I've only seen 2 types of instances: all small, or all big (wanted ships, not paying too much attention at the other ones). Log in, if the first wanted you see is not python/cliper/dropship/vulture, log off and back in. No need to wait in an instance of small ships, I've tried and never manage to get a big one there to kill and start a spawn of big ships.

I'm combat master, so I don't know how my rank is influencing this. I'm mostly hunting in high sec / high intensity rings.

i have recently gone back to RES hunting, after making some money at the conflict zone, and it is a high intensity one and i am seeing everything other than anacondas, i saw a wing of 3 wanted pythons yesterday, but what i have found is adders and vipers with huge (for them) bounties, i got 4 adders with 50k plus bounties, which is ok by me, they last about 5 seconds, a quick easy buck

This does explain why I had never seen Missiles (but 2 since release) and then today I go to Hi-RES and the 1st ship is a single Clipper and fires 4 Missiles straight away!
How stupid and there's no complex algorhythm for randomness. Respawn LOL!

I tried the HI RES today. Whatever they are paying I cashed in on, but they still get repetitive fast. Maybe they could be made more to increase the danger as the instance stays in effect, or as players join, or something? Hidden missions? Events? IDK, just throwing out ideas......

I was never getting any big spawns in HiRES so I've moved solely to HICZ. Bigger ships with high ranks and making the same money.

I found out that the most profitable wanted ship type for res farming is the viper! It has the best kill difficulty to credits earned/kill ratio

Vultures dropships clippers and pythons give you bigger credits sure... But they are also quite significantly tougher to handle and thus wasting more of your time

Couriers are another ships to handle on RES, I mean they are relatively harmless to your safety but their shields are pretty tough and take a while to kill them but yet they only give you half the bounty as a viper and not much better than adders/eagles

You better of taking out 2 eagles than a single courier

Cobra is another decent farming subject, it net you slightly lower than viper and still comparatively easier to handle compared to viper

That is of course assuming there are little to no police around to help you farming ^^ in case there are plenty of farmers' helpers, you can simply just kill-steal those pythons and clippers

So to get 'immersed' in this game you need to 'reset' it a couple of times.... Ok...
