Highest DPS FDL Loadout

I would like to see suggestions on good designs for FDL loadouts that gives the best DPS (fixed and gimballed).

I think my gimballed version of FDL has a very low DPS, but don't know which weapons are best for the highest overall DPS (for small, medium and large ships). Any help will be appreciated.
 
Highest DPS is absolutely meaningless. There is a lot of other variables. What's the cap drain? What's your flying style? What kind of opponents will you be fighting? How much heat generation? Outfitting purely based on on paper DPS = building a fail boat
 
Try this:

Two separate fire groups:
1. Huge beam laser for shields, and once they're gone switch to...
2. Four multicannons for hull damage.
 
I'm by no means a loadout expert, but my FDL was a good money maker with a class 4 Gimbled Multicannon w/Corrosive, 2 fixed beams and 2x turreted pulse on the side mounts.
I was making good mil/hr with this ship, but have moved away to a barely fitted 'conda because I love the SLF.
 

Your 'All frag' FDL loadout is what i sometimes use for pure unadulterated FUN FUN FUN, but may i suggest you have all Frags engineered to G5 Double shot, then load up with premium ammo! (The choice is yours on special effect, but i use None!)

I warn you this is FUN and if you don't like FUN, then don't try it!
 

No Heat Sink Launcher on either build? That's going to be pretty hot when you fire off them SCB's, isn't it? Plus that docking computer....

OP, there are 2 outfits I like for my FdL right now. 5x PA for one of them, 3x PA & 2x Seekers for the other. I'm currently on break from playing, but when I get back I'm going to experiment with a 2x PA & 3x Fixed autoloading multi's. I suspect I'll be sticking with the Seeker/PA build though for PvP.
 
DPS is completely dependent on what you're fighting, and cap draw. For sustained DPS vs Resistant shields (what matters in PvP) can't beat Efficient PAs

Jason, have you tried Packhounds? are they any better than the seekers?

Funny, I was just thinking of you when I wrote my post above. I tried engineering my PA's for Focused as you suggested a few weeks ago and I really like them, but boy oh boy do they run awfully hot. In the long run I don't think I can keep three Focused, so perhaps I might switch one of them for an Efficient and see how that works. They're much easier to land shots with than the Efficient, but when I trigger three at once I go over 100% heat:)

@Wasp0, no, I haven't. I qualified for them a month ago but have not had time to put in the merits. In theory they sound awesome, but I've heard they also kick up the heat quite a lot.

It's a lot of fun, but I'm probably going to go back to an efficient 5 huge beam, as that's still great at stripping shields, but doesn't need 4 pips in weapons. I'm considering changing the frags to gimballed as well, to help with those nippy little ships.

This build evaporates large ships though, it's stupidly fun taking 50% of an anacondas hull in one (doubleshot) drive by.

huge gimballed MC overcharged 5 and 4 efficient beams has MUCH more staying power, but the frags are more fun and challenging.

I'd suggest to change the beam mod to g5 long range instead, strip out their shields from 5+ km away and blast them with frags up and close.

Sadly with upcoming patch med frags are gonna be pea shooters against big 3.

When I fight in my FDL I find I enjoy longevity in addition to high damage more than just top DPS.

I have a 59 DPS short range blaster beam that is hilarious, and I combo it with 4 pack hounds. The pack hound batteries average about 70 DPS each, giving the 4 of them about 280 DPS; That is hilarious, and as long as I can stay cool that build devastates any opponent. But I don't have much longevity with this build because of need for heavy heat management, and I am not good enough at dodging incoming attacks.

I am also not good enough to get top dps with fixed weapons, but I have to admit 5 fixed multicannons is a lot of fun, and I can keep 3+ pips to shields and still have enough power to engines and weapons. Those darty eagles give me a hard time, though, but they do die ;)

You'll laugh at my PvE loadout. No, really you will. Nobody else does it but me.

Three sensible multicannon: One huge, two medium.
Upper two medium hardpoints: multi cannon turrets. TURRETS.

Eagles aren't a problem :D
 
My current loadout is triple Efficient PA's, 1 x feedback cascade rail long range and one efficient corrosive gimballed multi just to prevent shield regen and give me an extra 30% dps from the plasma once shields go down. It makes big ships go kaboom.
 
Highest DPS = five short range blaster G5 Cytoscramblers with Inertial effect, or five doubleshot G5 Frag cannons with Screening effect.
