Good luck.

Generally speaking, you'll find high G worlds in O, B and A systems quiet easily. Problem is, a great many of them have atmospheres... like the two 20gs I ran across. I think the gravity is the easy part in their case because their atmospheres are extremely dense. Glide mode might be like hitting a brick wall and boom.

Sorry for going a bit off topic.

But surely if you landed on a 9.77G world your heart would fail to get blood to your brain and you would black out, and finally perish?

Finally got round to visiting HD 148937 3 tonight. Most careful landing I've ever made but surprisingly drama-free because of it.

Taking off was funny - went vertical with thrusters and the ship didn't even move for three seconds. Then I let off on the power for a fraction of a second when it was 70m up and I still had my gear down, obviously it dropped like a stone. Fortunately I'd gone in my Courier since I get 245MJ of shields from a class 2D generator and that was enough to survive the second and unanticipated landing. :D When I took it up again I did it properly, vertical take off, transition to forward flight whilst still keeping full upward thrusters then angleed it five degrees up, popped a heatsink, hit boost and went straight to SC.

Good fun, definitely an experience to try. Nice pic of the approach and a surface shot will be added to the screenies thread.
