I think a good feature for ED would be highliting the hotspots of multiplayer activity in the galaxy map. What I mean by this is, the map should highlight systems with a lof of players in it in open (or the private group you're playing). This would be helpful for people looking for places with a lot players to look for new friends, or pirate, or hunt for pirates... You know what I mean.
