Just what it says. The other night I fought a Conda that got some lucky shots in and downed my shields. I decided to punish him a bit for scratching my paint, so after taking out his power in mustache twirling fashion I disabled his life support.
This got me thinking, why can't I tow that thing back to dock? Or spacewalk over? Or fire an autopilot limpet and get it somewhere? Or call in a tow truck. Seems a shame to waste a ship when all you gotta do is replace the power core and life support and sweep the bodies out the airlock.
First, it would make for a great, fun mechanic. Second, it would give combat pilots another source of income. Third, if implemented in Open it would give the pirate a great reason not to destroy the ship.
Of course you'd have to make it difficult so I'm thinking a multi mission type setup. You disable the ship and life support. This makes you a VERY wanted man in the system and security comes after you for a while. You fight them off while the tow truck is incoming or whatever.
Lot's of possibilities.
