Hiring ships option

What you think about possibility to hire ship(s) (npc or player) for transport, escort or like wingman ? Maybe ability to make some kind of hire agreement could be included in the game ?

Wingmen are already planned but I think transportation is an excellent idea especially if you want to stay in a smaller, shorter range ship but still want to see the galaxy. Giant transports could ferry smaller ships to and fro, helping them get across gaps in the map which would otherwise keep people from seeing more of the galaxy or just completing jobs. At the simplest level, you'd pay a fee, dock, and then come out on the other side.

Or, if they wanted to make it more complex, you'd have to rendezvous with the ferry. Maybe it would generate a frame shift field that enveloped and dragged the smaller ships with it, making for a juicy pirate target that would have to be defended by the ships being transported.

But just a basic pay-to-transport service I think would be great for people who didn't want to invest in a larger ship.

I don't think you can or will be able to hire ships to transport your goods - that goes a bit against the core design of the game of the activities being performed by the player. Maybe one day you can rent a transporter ship, but in that case you'd have to fly it yourself ;)

Using ship busses to transport ships is a wierd idea... I'd would encourage everyone to just get a bigger ship.

Besides there will be jump drive upgrades
