This is basically an idea I have been throwing around in my head for the past couple of days. I am well versed in the "Bounty" system in the game, but I also think a "Hit" system would be nice as well. I have been collecting bounties all the way up to my current ASP, and I find it somewhat unbelievable that the criminal powers that I have surely caught the eye of have not put a hit on my head. I am sure I have blown up at least 10 million credits of cargo, at least that again in ships, etc, and yet nothing. Any criminal organization worth any respect would have made a couple of phone calls and I should have to look over my shoulder, but as of right now I fear nothing. I am basically able to kill criminals without any form of repercussions at all.
Something different then the bounty system, as a player doing good in the galaxy should not really be punished for it, but would also do a lot for believability and immersion. Perhaps something that when a person with a "Hit" on them dies they don't have to pay for it out of their own pocket like the bounty system. That way having a large hit on your head might be seen with a sense of pride. Any bounty hunter worth their salt should have someone wanting to kill them. It might also be based on the rep of the criminal factions and not a number system based off of individual ships.
It would be nice for such a system where good bounty hunters are targets as well, and a pirate whether a player or npc would benefit from their demise. This is just brainstorming so feel free to post any ideas below.
