Hitboxes for prairie dogs

I seem to have a major issue with prairie dogs in my zoo. How can they not fit into the shelter? How do they not have enough space? This ed me off so much the other day that it made me just close the game and stopped playing.
I'm usually very patient with this kind of thing, and always work around it or adjust to it, but literally no reason for the prairie dogs to need that much space, and on top of that can't get into that massive shelter. I know they can fit into smaller spaces because I've built habitats for them before, and they traversed the area fine with no issues.

Like come on, how is that not enough?! I've even deleted all the rocks and branches you see in the screenshots, and they still can't use the shelter and don't have enough space.

I'm this close to downloading Planet Zoo Plus just for the hitboxes alone. Sigh...this game sometimes...

For comparison, this is prairie dogs in one of my other franchise zoo. They have enough space, but just because they can traverse the rocks. I guess they can traverse the flat rocks, but not the little pebbles? Also, they can use the little shelter.

I don't know. Am I doing something wrong? Is my zoo bugged? Did I just built wrong? Am I going crazy?

Yeah, a problem with small animals in PZ in general. They all need like 180m2 for one animal, which even alone is playsable, but the huge hitboxes make sure you have to build more than that because each branch, rock and plant futher adds to that number, so you will end you will end up with ridiculously big enclosure that the small animals will get lost in.

Been there, done that. I think all the small aninals like Prairie Dogs. Meerkats, Fennec Foxes, Skunks and Caimans should get the space requirment reduced to something like 70m2 to compensate for the huge hitboxes.

they still can't use the shelter
why don´t you use the small burrow? i think is perfect for the small animals and the big hitboxes
but in general i think that is a bug because the prairie dogd has a little hitbox comparete to the rest of the small animals

A lot of the animals really don't like the small rocks - esp. the aquatic fake ones. I think it's technically a feature - a way for people to block off escape areas with the rocks. But, yes, they don't like them.

And, to be honest, I've been using PZ+ for awhile now and it makes a huge difference in playability and does not, so far as I can tell, create any major clipping issues. I really think Frontier should seriously consider revamping the hit boxes for all their animals (yes, it would break a ton of existing zoos, but I thik most players would be okay with that if they didn't ahve to make a 20 ft. shelter for a six in mammal)
