I really am not on the "interiors bandwagon", but others are, diversity at its best.
Well that's okay too. But I am. I'm fine with interiors not being released for Odysseys launch. I'm fine with them not releasing them for Odyssey at all, actually.
But I do have an issue with them not working on it at all. There's enough gameplay that could be added to make an entire expansion.
EDIT: You know it's not really fair of me to just make a hyperbolic statement like "it's al entire expansion" and just leave it hanging there.
Forget about boarding people's ships and on-board combat for a minute and think about the more doable possibilities.
Real salvage opportunities in the form of abandoned or wrecked ships. Big Anaconda wrecked, and you have to content yourself with the three cargo pods that somehow got thrown from the cargo bay. Hack into the cargo bay and get it all! Forget scanning data beacons that somehow deployed from the wreckage. Get in there and hack the onboard computers. Scavengers should, of course, be expected.
Never mind just wrecked ships: what about landed ships whose owners could return?
What about scavengers coming to loot your ship while you're away?
Forget walking around while your ship is in normal flight. Shouldn't be necessary and wouldn't be advisable, given the inertia. But who's to say you can't bring your broke ship to a halt, engage thse mag boots and get some parts from the cargo bay (purchased and stored, so tech comodities could actually have a use) to effect repairs manually when you're low on synthesis mats? "Objects in Space" did this exceptionally well, imo.
Why not go to another port on your bridge to talk to an abbreviated Vista Ventures or upgrade equipment? We got a remote upgrade for opr ships...
Well, that's just off the top of my head it isn't much, I know. But the point is that interiors are something worth investing development time in, and the fact that FDev has expressed a lack of interest is a shame and an opportunity missed.
