Holding off exploring till Horizons

Hi commanders.

I'm new to the forums and would like to say hello to you all.

Yesterday I finally got my hands on an Imperial Courier and can't wait to go exploring with it. I'm holding off to go to the centre till Horizons have arrived. As the Courier is my favorite ship I really want to go with this one. I know there are better ships to take on a long trip but gonna try it anyway ;).

Greetings

Hello CMDR!
Rather you than me, mate. And that's coming from someone who went there in an Orca.
I bought an Imperial Courier to go exploring in, but self-destructed after about an hour. Too much like hard work, that.

Welcome to the Forums!

The Courier is a very nice explorer, nice cockpit view. Nice jump range.

Though after weeks of flying it, i became a little bit closterfobic in it.. It is a small ship..

Im also waiting till Horizons before i go back out.. I personally have a Anaconda ready and waiting. My ultimate goal in this game is to land that huge ship on a lonely planet, in a system nobody was before, and drive around it with my SRV...

Same. But, you know, yellow Orca :D

I know what you mean. I'm using one to mess about the galaxy waiting on 1.6, moving between my ASP and my Conda. I set a course to my ASP which was only 250 LY away then realised I would need to scoop for most of the way and that got me down.

I can't imagine exploring in that thing - even though I love that ship for it's cockpit, speed and handling.

Good luck though CMDR

Was afraid that it would be a hard ship to try it in. I had enough money to buy it or an DBX and have enough to upgrade. Waited for days to decide wich one to buy. But the Courier it is. haha

Welcome to the forum! I'm doing the same thing while desperately farming a hazRES near Shinrarta Dezhra to buy and outfit an Anaconda for exploration. Only about 150,000,000 CR to go.

Seriously OP..

It is a good ship to explore in..

Opinions are just opinions..

check THIS LINK. A good outfitted Courier is a beast explorer.. AND you can do some cool unexplored canyon runs with it..

I'm close to the Heart nebula now for a trip along the outer rim.
I doubt I'll be back when Horizons comes out but I've planned this trip for quite a while and realy don't want to turn back now.
If I hadn't left yet I would've waited too though.
Personally I favour the Asp E for exploring, 33ly jumps and enough slots for AMU's plus a fantastic scoop that only takes seconds to refill my tank.

Fly save Commanders.

with horizons & engineers you can even boost the FSD and maybe improve PP cooling / fuel scooping which will make it even better
