Greetings,
With Odyssey the Galactic and Systems maps rearranged the information in more productive ways. It also requires more 'clicks' getting into sub-menus to find what info a player is looking for. Everything is slower. Then if a player just wants fast in-and-out in the System map as in trading from A-B-A or running passengers to a scenic destination before some NPC pirate interdicts leaving quickly there is that loading simulation lag. The more complex the Odyssey system the longer it takes. Clicking on the back icon in-game with mouse, keyboard or controller nothing happens until the loading simulation is complete.
The work around? In the options/controls/ship controls/mode switches the Galactic and System maps can be assigned a binding to open and close them. Then when in the System map set your route in Odyssey as usual then hit this key to exit immediately overiding the loading simulation. Your destination is saved and off you go.
Just another Holiday tip where many players may know about this but those who don't just lowered their frustration level a little. If you have a Holiday tip post a thread! Nine years playing this game I can always learn more than I have forgotten!
