Holo-Me and Reality

The Holome of the commander on my second account is a quite close modeling of my wife. Because I bought this second account, and play it for her, just to do something that means she would share my hobby...

Edit : but on my main account, I'm more uber-being than I am IRL :)

Mine kinda looks like my grandfather, or a relative.

I concentrated on getting the jaw, nose and ears roughly like the ones that run on my father’s side.

Being a social kinda guy, I figured there must be a significant other.
So I did a portrait of who I think she is now. But then I wanted to know what we looked like back in the day. But the holo-me does weird age regression. Who you were doesn’t quite look like who you are. The young lass really surprised me with her angry islander vibe. I didn’t feel an immediate attraction, but I have to say she’s grown on me a lot. I can see what my guy fell for.

I do like the effect of regressing your holo. With the two of them lined up like that, you get a sense of the history between them. Not all of it good.
Like - they've buried bodies together, loved ones and enemies. Seen the burning wreckage of their cities. Fought together as comrades and curse each other for bad decisions, and then drugged up nights where they clutched at each other against the isolation and the fear of imminent death.

Turjan did a good story for that film festival where he aged his mother. I definitely recommend playing with the age of your holo.
Specially all you who just run with a hot chick. - Who is she really? Who does she become? Do you still want to be with her when she is a veteran spacer?

But yeah, I wish the age regression could make a young bloke a bit more like this regression:

Playing with the holo-me lends itself to generating back story.

For example I do a lot of work in game for an Alliance faction based out of LHS 2541. We get our missions in game from Governor Mindy Horton.

And of course the officer running that project (Head of Southern Command) is none other than Mangal Oemie.

So you can see that between my partner, Mindy, and Mangal that LHS 2541 looks like an old colonial state with a slave history. Being Alliance helps tie the whole story together.

My guy is kinda dark too, but more like way many years of sun.

I read an interesting complaint here from a South London Indian bloke, that there isn’t enough variation in the dark skins. You go from a deep tan to deepest Congo in too few steps. The in-betweens are missing, and I think he’s right.

Anyway, whenever Mindy Horton wins another system for the Alliance, I think the party looks like this:
The singer is Portuguese (yeah - really) and the song is about her parents meeting in an Angolan nightclub during the civil war.
So kinda like my two holo-me avatars.

A ton of positive story, five pictures and a video. On-topic and thought out.

That’s a high effort post - come on you slackers - gimme some rep.

Ya rep me for sarcasm, rep me for joy.

The holo-me in my avatar isn't far off looking like me.

In the game I alternate between using that and an uglied-up, 60-year-old, creepy-old-grizzled space prospector version with a handlebar moustache who looks like he's spent so long in the black he's gearing up to clap some alien cheeks.

wow you really have put a lot of thought to this I like your style o7

I've spent few hours in holo-me making my avatar. My commander looks quite like me IRL :) But there is no exact brows shape in holo-me. I have little thicker. Also there is no the same hair cut as mine. I have some receding hairline.
But... I am similar to myself :D
