HoloLens.... any chance?

Good morning,

last year I saw the presentation of the MS-HoloLens, and yesterday there was again a MS-Presentation regarding this cool tool. First idea that came into my mind was: How cool would it be to have the cockpit/radar/menu-Stuff on your desk? Is Frontier planning to support this thing?

It would be cool, I agree =)
But I doubt it will be supported any time soon, the foremost reason being that the hololens will cost around 3000€. So there won't be enough people that own one in the near future =/

As much as I like the idea of HoloLens itself, I doubt ED would be the game to use it. ED is clearly a full VR game.

HoloLense migth shine in 3rd person games though, where you watch the game world from "outside" anyway. I wouldn't mind playing Civilization VI at my dining table! :D

Well as i understand hololense isn't going to be "monitor" for your pc or have anything to do with pc. It has its own processor. It will run its own programs or apps. Hololense is more like Google glasses than vr headset.

Yeah, but imagine sitting in front of your monitor, having all cockpit-stuff on your table, including the radar. And the menus at both sides. This all while playing on a 40" 4K-TV. Having the starmap on your table, moving it around with your hands... Thousands of possibilities.

I think there are more than enough ppl out there who are not able to use VR, either for health-reasons (eyes, motion sickness etc.). This would be a cool addition to their (I hate that word) immersion.

HoloLens is currently expensive, but I like the concept so it may evolve in future to find a useful function (I heard of using Skype to have a proper projection of the other person you're calling appearing in your view for example). As for games, it depends how you'd construct it to fit into the realworld view, as VR currently of course blocks it all out.
