Just tripped over this by accident testing a new ASP build! It makes weird noises like the alien artefact but deeper & slower. Looks like a transmitter ! Get your backsides over here in case its does something or something creepy happens to me :eek: [alien] It does not show up on scanners. My location is in the last picture. Just add me in game CMDR Sgt.Barnes you will see my marker in open mode and can find me easily. I 'am just outside Orion.

well,
i don't want to destroy your dreams.. but it looks like a simple terrain's glitch to me.

the problem is : if there is nothing in the scanner then it is nothing.. since you cannot interact at all with it.

so i guess it's nothing.

Can you record the sound with music turned off? On my way to Pleiades for the CG, will add an ADS and check it out afterwards if none has done so by then.

Going to have to insist that it is just a bug. The noises might be part of the bug or they might just be unusual-but-normal ambient noises.

Either way, the 'model' of the structure is incredibly poor and the texturing of the planet is wrapped around it. Everything in-game that is definitely unusual has its own textures. The Barnacles have unique textures and so do the Unknown Artefacts.

This is just a bug. Let's not let this explode into something more than it is. There is enough genuine unusual stuff in the game.

Your correct ! Panic over. I have done a couple of re starts on my pc and it disappeared. The noise remains though so it must be part of the ambient back ground noises for the planet I'am on.

Graphic driver issues dont change the sounds. ;) I agree it is probably a bug, but its also probably more fun to check it out if you're in the area anyway...

Just found another spire in another place & the sounds have increased. Looks like this planet is faulty ! Drivers are all up to date. May be something to do with yesterdays patch ?
