As a pretty hardcore Trekkie, I think I can pretty safely say it's just some bloke who wanted to walk around a full-scale model of the Enterprise. I've thought about doing a similar project, but it would take me far too much time.

Nice representation, I presume not a game asset but still great work, there are some talented people on the interweb.

I came across this amateur built ship the other day and then realised it won a competition and is now an in game asset.
The level of work achieved by these guys the three guys, is just top quality

There were a lot of episodes of TNG where the HoloDeck simulated the Enterprise itself. That would be a quick and easy fix which would also remain true to the show.
