Home system bgs not changing from investment dispite exploration data

My main faction system has been in investment for a while now, perhaps too long in this time there has been 4 wars and im left wondering is it stuck.

Is this normal?
 
Yes, it's normal. Investment's now an economic state above Boom, rather than the expansion-related state it used to be.
Economic, security and conflict states can now all coexist for a single faction. You could for example be in Boom, Civil Liberty and a War at the same time, all in one system.
 
My faction has also been stuck in Investment and as of today's tick (assuming it happened already) 5mil in bounties collected yesterday, along with a half dozen courier missions, has made no difference to influence.

I'm getting a little annoyed that FDev haven't communicated at ALL about the common issues seen by players as bugs. CZs apparently are 'as expected' but we have no info at all about exactly WHAT is expected. Same with BGS states, no info except the stream which wasn't exactly informative.

What do you mean by 'stuck? Unless you are undermining your own faction (or someone else is) then why would it change, since it is the 'best' economic state?
 
I've been out exploring but monitoring my system. Influence has dropped from 65% to 40% (the reason I headed back). My system is on the edge of the bubble and I don't see any obvious reason for the odd player that might pass through to involve themselves in anything against my pmf.

All the while the influence was dropping the state has been Investment. I thought it would change due to whatever was going on to drop influence. I return home, do some missions, mostly bounty hunting. No change to influence.

I wonder if it's something to do with a bug related to Investment state?

I've been out exploring but monitoring my system. Influence has dropped from 65% to 40% (the reason I headed back). My system is on the edge of the bubble and I don't see any obvious reason for the odd player that might pass through to involve themselves in anything against my pmf.

All the while the influence was dropping the state has been Investment. I thought it would change due to whatever was going on to drop influence. I return home, do some missions, mostly bounty hunting. No change to influence.

One possible bug is that pirate lord kill missions appear to benefit the target anarchy faction now. I assume you have an anarchy faction in system, has it risen in influence and has its economic state improved? if so this bug would appear to be a likely cause. The BGS however is so bugged at the moment that there is just no way to be definitive.

Doing granular testing on explo data at the moment. getting both positive and negative influence results for data sales

Some systems are influence locked for no apparent reason, others have locked states (we are now in day 24 of active conflicts) with about 20 other pending/actives stuck.

There is an anarchy faction but it hasn't gained any significant influence. The 25% I've lost has been split relatively equally among the other factions. I suppose it is possible that new scenarios etc are making their fair share of difference. Still doesn't explain why I'm not gaining influence now I'm back working my faction again.

Just to clear up any potential confusion for other elitist contributors here (not aimed at you Schlack)... I've had no problems controlling my influence in any other states, Boom and None so far since the update, lots of different states before that. I've been playing the BGS for 12 months (around 1600 hours). I know a lot more than most on how BGS works. Or should I say, used to work.

I have been trying to get some traction on this clear change in behaviour regarding system control, but nobody seems interested.

My guesses include :
1) There is now a bigger weighting to actions for lower influence factions, and less weighting that previous to higher influence factions, so your "natural" level if you leave the system to evenly distributed random traffic will be about 30-40% instead of 65-80% (lower number of factions in system seems to give a higher natural level)
2) There is a bug where controling faction does not get any influence for certain things like it used to (e.g. nothing for bounties, or trade profit)

All this stuff has been bug reported since Tick #2 of 3.3, and we have still had no feedback. A few items in the patch that dont sound like they were supposed to fix it.
