Homeworld 3 announcement trailer

OMG OMG OMG Ive been waiting for this for years.... I thought it would never see the light of day due to the rights issues.

I will wait on this one to get a proper review.

The stressful way they made Homeworld 2 where a mission abruptly ended when a mission goal was reached and autocollected everything had my fleets usually enter a new area completely smashed and damaged and no time to rebuild forces.

It was like playing the event of Battlestar Galactica where the Cylons appeared every 30 seconds and you had to jump.

If they give over the decision to WHEN to leave a mission area then it might be something for me.

Was never a massive fan of Homeworld, but I have fond memories of playing the first one. More strategy games these days is a bonus anyway, so I'm looking forward to this one.

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
I think it's very strange that they are doing a fund raising campaign when they don't need to. The rationale given - that it brings fans and devs closer, and that it allows them to do that fan survey thing - is dubious. The same can be accomplished with a forum or social media account.

From what I understand, they already have complete funding from Gearbox. But they also want to allow for people to invest or back the game via Fig. It is a bit strange, yes, but I can't fault them for wanting additional funding at this stage.

first homeworld had indeed something special the sequels didn't have, and didn't hook me up the same. i couldn't say exactly what (time for me to revisit them). i think mostly the combination of interface and tactics. it was simple yet powerful. and those claw formations! the added complexity and graphical revamps of hw2 didn't really compensate the loss of that freshness. deserts is just a different thing altogether. still great games.

yeah, color me a bit hyped.

As long as they go with the classic Homeworld control method and not the Homeworld 2 one I'll buy this. After release not going anywhere near fund-raising.
QFT.

Played HW many times (not many strat games even today come with a Z axis, loved ambushing every dreadnought I could grab with salvage corvettes), never even made it halfway through HW2.

LOL at investing.

I liked the HW2 gameplay personally but I'd be ok with either method. Just really pleased to see a proper Homeworld game being worked on by a committed team.

Bought it already

It's free stupid money with no obligations attached.
