Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak

"On January 20, 2016, you're invited to lead the expedition that started it all in Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak, a ground-based sci-fi RTS from Blackbird Interactive, a studio founded by veterans of the Homeworld and Company of Heroes franchises.

Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak takes players to the deserts of Kharak where danger lurks over every dune. Before you can find your Homeworld, you must first unlock the secrets of the desert."

Horizons can take some cues from this on how to make planets more fun.

Er, the original trailer predated the Star Wars one (when it was called Shipbreakers)

It was a joke, but the first thing that came to mind when I saw it was it looks like the crashed star destroyer in the star wars trailer, maybe JJ Abrams stole it from them

Fair enough!

I do love the hardware design of this (and Homeworld obviously). Hope the game's interesting. Haven't played an rts for years.

"The new star wars film has big ships crashed in the desert, We need big ships crashed in the desert"

Here's a T9 crashed in the desert. Does that count?

I just bought this on Steam - if you preorder you get Homeworld Remastered Collection for free! Not a bad deal :)

I think I prefered it when this game was just about breaking up ships and making money. I will be waiting until I hear more about it.

Preordered. Really like some of the settings (day/night/dusk/dawn lighting on the desert, dust storms approaching etc.) that IGN have shown, and the Homeworld UI looks great.
