Honest Opinion of the Grey Burqa (2D flat panel in VR) in Odyssey?

The broken HUD is incredibly annoying. FDev have been really quiet about the VR bugs and glitches. Have they said anything at all about the radar? My worry is that it's like the HUD colour thing, where it's so baked in that it's impossible to fix
Nope, no news from FD on this, but that is their modus operandi 😞

I suspect this is what EDO VR is going to be for quite some time, if not forever. Their early 'no VR at launch' statement was probably accurate and this hacked together mess we now have was the minimum they needed to do to keep the VR community sated, or so they thought. EDO is not listed as a VR game, they've not stated they will be working on it to be that, only a vague pleasantry along the lines of 'doing VR right' - which is the proverbial kicking the can down the road statement.

In reality, they've got a lot of issues to rectify, mainly performance related and game breaking bugs, and then they've got the announced console launch to get done, so I'll be amazed if the VR issues we see today are fixed before any of that.

My biggest hope is that upcoming performance patches will improve the VR experience for EDO, but I won't hold my breath on all the other issues we see in VR (but happy to be proved wrong FD 😉)

Am I alone in thinking that EDO feels built for VR to the extent that, whilst they have made no promises, I am cautiously optimistic that we will get full VR by the end of the year???

Honestly, it s fine and i have nothing bad to tell about it. It s like playing on a giant screen... all i want it s an optimisation cause i m runing only at 40-80fps max, and the bug correction. But really, i think this fps implantation is a good idea. OFC i d like a full vr fps, but i m feared about the motion sickness, and the specs it ll require...

I'm honestly puzzled as to why it exists. Going by the vanity cam, which seems to display everything in full 3d no problem, all FDev have to do to get basic, but functional VR for Odyssey is to essentially create a 'Pilot's eye view' preset for the vanity cam, use the headless pilot model to avoid clipping issues, and turn the vanity cam UI off. Yes, there will still be a few issues (like looking straight down might have you looking into your pilot's neckhole), but it would be a functioning base they could then start working on improving.

Horizonts didnt start for some reason, so i again gave VREDO a try . Stupid 2x performance penalty aside oh boy do burqa looks awful. Why FD would need to do this way. Why FOV is so narrow, why background is gray, that so ridiculous. That crap needs to go

Horrid. Makes me want to vomit.
That and the garbage performance (Horizons was butter smooth) is driving me bonkers.
I'm not going to refund, I'm going to patiently wait for them to fix this mess, but I'm more than a bit gutted over this dumpster fire.
