Hey everyone and Frontier (hope you read these),
I'll start off by saying that I'm a huge fan of the elite series and love this game.
Some Suggestions:
-A more interactive space station interface. Something along the lines of Rebel Galaxy Outlaw. They do this so well and they are a much smaller team. They implement a point and click method for navigating around the space hub. Upon docking the player has a choice to go to the bar, shipyard, commodies market, and mission acquisition. After choosing an area a small cut scene shows the player moving to their destination only to take them to another area where they have more point and click choices. These areas arent highly interactive but they do have a lively feel. How could these areas be fleshed out in elite?
The Bar: The player could engage in games ie pool, cards, slots, dice, etc(make some credits errmm I mean arx). They can also speak to the bartender to get tips on local discoveries and order drinks of course.
The Shipyard: Pretty much a showroom for the ships with a salesman avatar.
The commodities market: A vendor behind a sales window with reactions to buying selling etc nothing special.
Mission acquisition: A room with different representatives
Crew lounge: A room to acquire ship crew.
Implementing this in a point and click style would easily make me forget about wanting space legs and also would be much less work to develop. Through the use of random generation they could have combinations of different assets to change the looks of the vendors and the space station interiors.
-More narrative stories. You have already started implementing this please keep it up.
