Hoping for a major error

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I haven't been able to touch another game on my computer, with the exception of some VERY infrequent Planetside 2, in over a week because all I can do is browse these forums, watch Alpha videos, and keep running the Combat Test client in the desperate hope that someone at Frontier will make a mistake and I'll magically be able to download the full Alpha 4 and play.

Oh Elite, with your Skywalker Ranch sounds and your billions of stars, you have ruined it all for me. I haven't touched my Xbox in ages. Elder Scrolls Online, SWTOR, Spiderman 2, they all sit on my desktop, unplayed. And it's all because of you.

I'm in a similar boat. I did play a fair amount of ESO over the weekend, which I enjoyed. But suddenly Cyrodiil didn't seem as big. :)

Played a crap ton of ESO in beta and launch. Checked up on ELITE by a whim to see how it's been progressing. It has DEFINITELY been progressing! Now looking into ways of selling my ESO account as I now know what I've been looking for in nearly all the games I've ever bought. Near endless exploration and discovery.

I was excited about SC, and cautiously optimistic of ELITE. Those roles have reserved. Keep up the excellent work Frontier!!!

T -10 days and you are in!

Ten days to go, ain't that long really.
Especially not if you thought Prem Beta would drop in January! :)

Good to see you back KING5TON.

1. Denial
2. Anger
3. Bargaining
4. Depression
5. Acceptance

Good to see you've nearly hit Level 5.

I'm still stuck at Level 4 :(

Still, they keep saying that its the journey that counts.

Cheer up Lefty, If you think that's bad, just you wait until you get your hands on it. I haven't played any other game since Alpha 3 came out. My Swtor, secret world and DCU characters must feel abandoned. Skyrim, Arkham City and the latest Deus-Ex games remain unfinished.

You think, 'Oh, I'll just drop into it for half and hour and do a couple of trade runs' and before you know it its 1 am, you're down to 20% hull and running from three eagle pirates, hoping to hell that your Frameshift charges.

Just you wait, 10 days and then your spare time is gone!!

LOL you too?

LOL you too?

Have cancelled my EVE accounts and my WoW account. Friends tried to get me to start playing Wildstar in their Open Beta.... but... It's. Not. Elite.

My WoW sub runs out in early June so still have something to pass the time when there's no one streaming on twitch or the forum is quiet...

I backed SC but frankly, it hasn't got a hope in hell of getting me to play any time soon. Roll on 30th

I guess I'll get by with some Planetside 2 and ESO. Like you guys said it's only 10 days away. I do have Watch Dogs on preorder too but I'll just have a 3 day window before it goes into the UNPLAYED club.

By the way Planetside 2 is pretty damn awesome. I like games where the players can impact the world .. I like the dynamic aspect of taking terrorities and the impact it can have on economics and resources. It's one of the things I am excited about in Elite. Anything where I can make at least a semi-permanent mark on the gameworld that other people play in excites me. That's why I'm looking forward to what Frontier has in store with the exploration game ... the thought that I could register or discover systems that other people might come across is really cool!

The Anger stage is best.

Ahh yes; to see your discoveries result in the building and completion of new space stations, (not necessarily by yourself), but due to your discoveries. THAT is exciting.:)

Have to agree with the OP.

I was thinking this just the other day. When was the last time I played or looked at any other game since watching my first E:D Alpha video? I had previously watched all the Kickstarter dev updates and thought the idea was cool, but it was only until I clicked on the video link from RockPaperShotgun (whom's article editor was EXTREMELY excited about E:D), that I was instantly sold. I haven't been back to RPS since, nor have I played another game since... I got it bad..

Waiting for beta feels like standing outside a club. I can see there's people in there and they look like they're having a good time. It's not that busy but the doorman won't let me in yet anyway, just because. :)
