Horizon content in base game?

So, I DO own Horizons, but my laptop refuses to run it - lack of a dedicated graphics card from what i can tell. So, I just play the base game and am content with it for now.

My question is, if I end up playing on some other PC that CAN handle Horizons, and i engineer something on my ship, how does that affect the base game? Will I still have the benifit when I play on my laptop, or will the engineered stuff revert to base stats?

You ship doesn't change. You just can't access the stuff that changes it.

Just to make that clear, yes, you can do your engineering on another PC and keep it in the base version.

I wonder what happens if you shut down docked somewhere a good distance from your other (stored) ships in a Horizons-only ship and then start the game in non-Horizons?

Similarly, how about if you were docked in a planetary port and then started in the base game?

I might have to try.

First thing, you will be in your ship, it doesn't matter if the stored ship is horizons only, you can't buy a new one but you can switch - unless it is parked in a planetary port, then you'd have to transfer it first to a place you can access.

In case you log out on a planet you end up in orbit of it.

If you dock in a planet station then open up the base game, you respawn in your ship in orbit around the planet, and the same thing happens if you had logged off while in the SRV or parked anywhere else on a planet.

small addition, if you are in your SRV, your ship is destroyed and you log back to the base game, you see a rebuy screen.

Yea I knew about the SRV or planet surface - it is the docked at planetary port I'll have to try later.
