Horizons 4.0 Upgrade again?

Hello fellow Commanders,

I am a bit confused.
After a couple of attempts I managed to download the 4.0-client for Horizons. I plaed this morning a couple of hours (killing some Thargoids and messing around with EDHM).
When I started the Launcher a couple of mnutes ago I now have a "Upgrade"-Button in the lower left section of the launcher. When I click it, the dowanload start again.

Has anyone made the same expereince or an idea what's going on?

To be honest, the process of downloading the client yesterday was no fun at all (I had to try several times because the dowload tended to freeze at different stages) and I'm not looking forward to downlaod all the files again.....

I've just checked and I've got Upgrade again for Odyssey now (although it was fine a few hours ago). I'm guessing there's a small patch (although I haven't seen an announcement about it).

Same here. I updated yesterday evening but didn't play.

I did rename the SalvationFinale.webm file this morning to see if that worked, which makes me wonder if that change caused the second UPGRADE prompt.

No, it's not that. I've not done that rename/removal and have an additional 4.0 EDO upgrade this morning. Currently in progress ....

got the upgrade button again this morning , pressed it 40 mins ago and nothing is happening ?

just as i posted this it started! typical.

timer says 3-4 hours? what the hell is this update?

My guess is they fixed the AX CZ - as the issue is now Fixed and was only raised yesterday

Edit: OMG! I used the issue tracker to track an issue! They actually updated it! (Looks like they might have fixed an account migration bug too) Ah no - that was earlier
Double Edit! Ned tells me that was fixed earlier, so the issue tracker is back to useless :)

Initially the launcher froze on pressing 'upgrade', deselected 'Enable Virtual cache' and upgrade started now saying two hours to complete then will enable Virtual cache again.

I don’t understand why anyone would be interested in Horizons 4.0.

1) You can’t interact with anyone in Horizons 3.8 or Odyssey
2) can’t land on atmospheric planets even if you stay in your srv.
3) the performance is worse
4) the lighting is inconsistent and can go very dark for no reason.
5) UI Horizons Vs Odyssey ?

I mean if you want space legs and Atmospheric planets just get Odyssey Horizons 4.0 won’t give you that.
Why even bother with Horizons 4.0, it just splits the user base that much into little fragments

Ps: still LOVE Horizons 3.8 the version I have over 3500 hours in VR ( and I own 2 copies of Odyssey )

Third upgrade in a row here ...

Oh yes, and I have to force-quit the launcher every time I start it after booting the computer, because the launcher freezes when I click "Upgrade". After the fq, with the next launcher start the Upgrade button works.
