If the expansion comes out in December, I shouldn't be at all surprised to see the beta start in October sometime.

According to the purchase page for each, Q1 2016 Horizons is released. "Holiday 2015" is Horizons Beta.

I don't see this at all. The Horizons product page (non-beta) clearly says it will be out Holiday 2015. Q1 2016 is for the second major update of the season (PL being the first).

Order now and be among the first to land, Holiday 2015.

The second major update for Elite Dangerous: Horizons will release in Q1 2016 with more expansions to follow.
