Horizons Quality and other things

Horizons gives us the oppertunity to land on 3 types of planets and drive around on them which
is great but not all planets seem to be of the same quality and between the low quality ones which
form the majority there is very, very little variation. The textures of the planets while on the surface
sometimes seem very off, same goes for the shadows. Some textures look flat and lowres. Small
installations will have lights which don't cast shadows making them look very low quality and on the
lowres ground they look even worse. It is allmost as if the production team did a few planets to
fool the Quality Assurance team and when that was don said "EFF it. i'm off!".

Same for the missions, there is mission specific cargo which entails a specific container of poop
for instance which will need to be delivered, no other poop will do. There are also rescue the pilot
missions but here any old pilot, they appear randomly from where you start like the planet is
sprinkled with them will do. We should be looking for a specific pilot who crashed in a specific
area on the planet, right?! Instead any old pod with pilot that conviniantly spawns where ever we
fly will do USS style. It is again as if production implemented something just to tick a box
to get passed QA with a minumum of effort. It takes away from immersion (if not breaking it
completely) and takes away any reason to go and explore the planet.

I haven't even touched on the broken missions or the repetative loot spawns on the surface. Why
have skimmers worth more than whatever is there, guard the garbage? Why do i come across the
same scene over and over? A few cannisters with some skimmers in between loot dropping rocks,
the occasional mining camp with no dynamic lighting and missing shadows.

Also with the character creator and multi crew being part of the new season, does that then mean
that my buddies who did not buy the expansion will not be able to be part of my crew in space?
What if I go down to a planet with them on board? Will they all have the same face or will they
have access to the character creator also?

Do you also scratch your head a bit when you consider the price tag, the BETA period and then
seeing the quality of the release? The BETA period seems not fully utilised to find hidden issues and
fix them but rather to temporarely inflate the price and fixing glaring issues that were already known.

I love Elite but...
... am I being too negative?
