Horizons: Questions

I already have questions regarding Horizons. Good, proper, gameplay related questions. I know most or all of these will be answered properly in time but I'd love to see your views on them as well. Also, as one of the eight people on the planet who loved the Mako in Mass Effect, I am giddy with excitement for Horizons and have already pre-ordered the beta because I didn't actually need to eat this week.


  1. If the Scarab is totalled with you inside it is this treated the same way as losing your ship, i.e. losing exploration data, bounties, merits etc, or do you just wake up in the cockpit sans SRV?
  2. Will the Scarab be upgradeable, can we configure it in the same manner as our ship or is it a preset design?
  3. Is your ship vulnerable to other ships (or even SRVs) while on the ground or does it enjoy the same kind of protection as sitting on an outpost docking pad?
  4. When does the beta start and why is it not [beta start date] yet?
  5. Do you know what you've done to me, FD? I had just barely come up with a plan to deal with Fallout 4 while maintaining some semblance of a life, and now you drop this? Fine, I'll look for work next year.
  6. Seriously, how awesome is this going to be?

Have some patience man, I'm sure we'll find out more stuff in the coming weeks, I really doubt they are going to answer questions like that today.

They have a few days worth of live streams. Im sure they are going to address a lot of stuff there. After that, give them a day or two to recover and they will be in the forums full force playing wack a mole.

There will be a live Q&A with DB and Sandro. Maybe some of your questions will get answered there.

"If you can’t make it to Gamescom, we’ll be bringing the show to you. At 4PM CEST (3PM UK time) on August 5 we’ll be livestreaming a pre-show Q&A with David Braben and Sandro Sammarco direct from our public stand."

Don't worry, I'm not expecting answers right now, just, ya know, whenever. I mainly just wanted to put my thoughts out there while they were fresh in my head, maybe see what other people were thinking.

Though now would be good...

Good points about the Q&As, I'll keep an eye on them.

I wanna know if the strange wording they've used in the announce means that Horizon is an standalone expansion. It would make absolutely no sense.

And even if it includes the whole game. If I have Horizons and a friend doesn't, I won't be able to play with him?


Or even more important. WHEN WILL PL COME TO XBOX?????????????
