Hostile enemies are not turning red until you shoot them in rez sites.

Steps to recreate.
go to haz-res
find a wing and attack.
Only one ship shows red although all are attacking.. very confusing

Will be fixed in January according to FDev.
ok good to know, will ho back to horizons, at least to finish my bounty stack as this is making it very difficult as you have no idea who is shooting you if there are several ships LOL

EDIT: ok not a workaround to play horizons.. none of my stacked missions are there :( boo! I will have to do single targets or try and land a shot on each before they break formation.. its gonna take forever lol.

You attacked a wing, that wing attacks you. Doesn't sound that hard to figure out.

I had strange experience yesterday.

On my way back after massacre settlement mission I was attacked by a viper from the target faction. He was clean, but so were I as the settlement was anarchy.

He was attacking a clean target with "report crime against me turned on" . He didn't get wanted. He was marked as mission target so I did returned fire and immediately got bounty.

I thought this issue that do not mark your offender as hostile bugs also C&P. So, I went to a RES and attacked first wanted ship in a wing without scanning wingmates. After I killed the ship, targeted the wingmate who was bashing my shield in the process. Didn't wait for the scan to complete, first shot - I got fine.
🤷

Didn't experience that myself, but I would welcome it if the (anarchy) factions started retaliating with extreme force for (settlement) massacres and such.

Yeah, I would like to see factions retaliate to hostile actions too regardless of if anarchy or not. However, C&P should work equally and not messed by this not registering offender as hostile bug.

I still wonder how such high severity and impact bug was not prioritized for the first two patches of the update.

Has anyone noticed that AI is not responding to other AI attacks? Example: if I send my fighter to attack someone he won't fight back against him but only once I pull the trigger as well. I've been seeing them not fight back against security forces or a very delayed response too.

I think this entire bug was due to an attempted, and thus far successful “type 10 bait ship” nerf. Not only are consecutive targets not being picked up by “fire at will” mode for turrets or slf, but the ship that is targeted and destroyed yields no kill credit or bounty. The only way to get credit for a kill is to pull the trigger on it at least once.

As for targeting what you can’t get into sights…. The slow way is to find it on your left target list. With turrets just pull the trigger even if they are behind you. The faster way is to map a key to threat select on HOTAS or keyboard.

Nah this has to be a bug because it does not turn engaged wing ships red, not to do with random NPC attacks (which should also turn "red" and get engaged by automated systems). The type 10 bait ship has not worked AFK for a LONG time especially as your level rises. Sure you can still destroy hordes of them when lazily controlling it, but that is part of the game. Its a bloody massive warship, in reality it would do just that.

I try to avoid wings but when I don't I just kill one quickly try to target who is attacking me by following the fire (rarely works) as " target next hostile" or "highest threat " doesn't work. When that fails I just supercruise away for a few minutes then come back and they have forgotten you. I am playing in a high res site with a massively engineered fdl with a couple of shield cells.

OK so I know I am a coward.

You also know u are smart :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

The best thing to do at the moment until it is fixed is to take time and scan the whole wing before attacking, remembering names, and then if possible land at least one shot on each before they break formation.
It's not such a problem when no ships are near you but if in a large ship in a swarm of them it can be a real pain "WHO IS ATTACKING ME 😠"
Until they become hostile the SLF and your turret are no help either.
