Reminds me of one of my experiences: so proud to land on a random settlement, discover it's deactivated and surrounded by many pirates. I got to kill them all, started to repair and restore it, deactivated the alarm and defence system just in case, gathered everything I found, and finally took off with the satisfaction of unforseen job done. Few hours later I realized I forgot to take my power regulator back before leaving 😅

Odyssey has many moments of pure joy. The only thing it misses is more ways to make things with less lethality. Just with overcharging a NPC not being lethal but a "simple" knock-out would be great.

You're missing out on some diplomacy gameplay then. 😝

Well, I have farmed that location a number of times, and at the start it was all stealth based and avoiding innocent blood if possible. It can indeed also be done stealth wise and/or bloodless. But at some point you make a mistake and inevitably need to "silence" some witnesses before they sound the alarm 😋 . After a while you also inevitably become unfriendly and ultimately hostile as you can see.

Combat is a lot of fun so I do not mind much, but I think FDEV should make those engineer unlock data materials a bit more common, or at least allow for data trade at the bar (and have the unlock for selling some of those at the engineer itself instead of the bar).
