Hostile tag...how do I clear it

I currently hav a hostile tag in a system, how do I improve my standing with them, npc just chase me all over the place.

My notoriety is 0, I have no bounties.

Ive searched the net but cannot find any up to date answers.

thanks

Had a similar problem a few weeks ago when after doing a lot of massacre missions targeting the Ant Hill Mob in Merope, became hostil with the AHM who also happen to be the controlling faction in Maia. Basically you can either wait for your reputation with that faction change to unfriendly after a certain time (noiIdea how long that will take. More than a week at least) or you can find some other system where that faction is located (but not actually controlling the base/station) and do passenger missions for them to improve your rep.

https://eddb.io/faction < this is really helpful when looking for that info.

Are you pledged to a powerplay faction perhaps? The "hostile" tag also appears when you're in one of their " enemies' " systems. On the other hand, you're nonetheless not being attacked by the locals normally.

Edit: Are those NPCs of a certain type/faction? Police forces or Major Power aligned?

May be wrong, but I noticed that the term "Hostile" only showed up when I was a member of one of the power play factions. I was a member of the Aliance run by Ed Mahon and the term popped up at various times of my playing. I've since quit as an member of the Aliance and joined the AEDC, which pretty much does the same thing as I did as a member, but no longer have I've seen the term anywhere, any longer. Thus my thinking it only applies to power play. It stands to reason that a memeber of a different power play faction is hostile to one as one is to them. Basically, being a memeber of any of the various power play factions, puts and "X" on one. And one becomes fodder for any and everyone else involved in a different faction then the one they are partaking in. Like I said in the beggining, I maybe wrong, but I know longer see the term. Which has cut down on the number of interdiction attempts dramatically.

This is a PowerPlay terms. You are currently in a system from a power opposite your own pledge. It may be a control or an exploited system, but either way it’s a power that isn’t yours. You can come and go as you please, this has no impact on your ability to operate in that system. The only thing that may happen are ships from that power may try to interdict you, but a station or system security will completely leave you alone.

I’m not a member of any faction or participated in any powerplay.

i killed an npc whilst clearing skimmers, went back to a local station to restock and was obliterated by the station when I asked for access, and sent to jail.
ive been hostile since all that happened.

Ah so yes. You struck a military installation or civilian one. Had that happen to. Your inf with the faction that owned the installation was probably just cordial to being with and then they either own or occupy a spot at the station you returned to. Now that you’ve been blown up you should be able to return there. You will have to run some missions for the group that you have 0% inf with. That will then clear the hostile tag.

There's your problem. Killing those skimmers es off factions and once you're hostile with a faction any station controlled by them will kill on sight. Lesson learned here is to never restock in the same system as the skimmer kill missions

But now that he has been sent to the detention facility they shouldn’t continue to kill on sight. Used to be and I haven’t tested this with the current system if your inf with a certain faction was to low you would be considered hostile even without a bounty from them. So you would have to run some missions with them to get your inf back to cordial and then that won’t display again.

I think now you have to just stop screwing them over for a bit then they won't kill on sight. I was killing a lot of skimmers over the weekend and anything from that faction shot on sight in every system they were in. I escaped their station with 2% hull left. I was lucky lol

Once you are hostile with a minor faction, the only way to fix it is to do good things for them (mostly blowing up ships wanted in their jurisdictions). The status won't go away on its own.
