Hostile with Minor Faction

Hi all

I’m hoping someone on here can help me on this...

Lots of massacre missions have resulted in a Hostile status with a local Minor Faction. Now I’m keen to kiss and make up, but I can’t take any of their missions because the minimum requirement is always Unfriendly.

I’ve tried at different stations where they have a presence, but no, they don’t want to talk to me. Can’t imagine why, I only killed about 500 of them, get over it lol.

So, my question is, over time will the Hostile status revert to Unfriendly/Normal by itself?
I know it does for the 3 super-powers, but this link suggests not so for Minors:-

Allied for minor factions does not decay, but Hostile status does anti-decay over time, rising back up to Unfriendly. I believe it's the usual decay rate (2% per day) This was designed specifically to allow you to (eventually) kiss and make up.

There are other things you can do, if you're in a hurry:
  • Dump exploration data.
  • Sell trade goods at a profit.
  • Bounty-hunt and hand in bounties. This last one you can do even if they don't own stations or if they do own stations but you can't actually dock at them due to being KOS-Hostile with them. Go to a nav beacon or RES, collect some bounty vouchers, fly to the nearest Interstellar Factor and hand the bounties in. Your Rep will still increase.

Also, there will still be some missions you can do at hostile, even some passenger missions, but don't expect more than one or two, if any.

Just to clarify on this even further:
For minor factions, allied rep won't decay, hostile rep will decay to unfriendly.

For superpowers, both allied and hostile rep will decay back to friendly/ unfriendly respectively.

Minor factions used to work the same way, but people complained. Personally, i find all the decays frustrating, and would rather stay hostile unless i take action to change it, but that's just me.
