News Hot Ships, hot modules, outfitting proposal

Literally stop complaining. Soft pilots who cry at a challenge are the only ones complaining. Those of us pilots who thrive and are constantly wanted dont complain. Why does everyone still think that the feds, imperials, or alliance are the powers to be fighting for!!? Talk and est communicatiom with the Thargoids to figure out why they are once again being aggresssive. Humans were the first to irritate the goids. Ignorance is stopping the world today and space in elite.

FWIW Interstellar Factors can be found in high, medium, and low security systems, Gresley Gateway in LHS 3877 is an example of an IF in a high security system and Horrocks Hub in Rind in a medium security system.

That's correct. Interstellar Factors will be present at any station in a low security system, and any station controlled by an anarchy faction regardless of system security level. :)

Supposed to work like that but does not always. Was doing some material collection in the SRV and unknowingly entered a station's no fire zone and got a small fine for reckless discharge of a weapon. No problem, recalled the ship and flew to the station to pay it off but could not access contacts to do so. Should have tried quitting to the menu and restarting but did not think of that. I just flew off planet and docked at a station and could pay there.

Similar? thing happened doing planetary scan missions, scanned a public access point in a public area and got a 600 bounty. Drove 3.5 km away and wanted status dropped so it was a local bounty. Flew off planet and was not wanted at any station in the system. Again landed on an adjacent planet to collect some material using the SRV, fired at some rocks and upon getting into the ship and back into space was wanted at every station in the system? Something with getting in and out of an SRV seems to bork the system occasionally. My unscientific theory is that it has to do with my person being wanted in the SRV but my ship becomes wanted when I enter it and under some circumstances that handoff gets messed up.

I also somehow ended up with hot modules that I could not put back in the hot ship and had to buy new modules so I could fly to IF and pay bounty. By the time I was done a 600 bounty ended up costing 111,700 to clean the modules because I could not put them back in to go to the IF. Long story but again involved planetary scan missions, SRVs, and getting some interim fines and paying them.

I believe there is a bug with fines gained in an SRV not being payable...

Why would installing clean modules into a hot ship make the modules hot? Why make the heat viral? This creates more total hot modules than paying a bounty could ever clear.

Can you make paying off a bounty clean all its associated heat, even on stored modules? This way outfitting before the bounty is cleared is expensive. And once you’re right with the law again unreasonably huge cleaning fees get dropped from your stored inventory.

For example: I bought several expensive guns, unknowingly, while my ship had a 400cr bounty. Now my new very expensive gun is hot, my old very expensive gun is stored and hot, and paying off the bounty can only clean one of them. This is now a 10 million cr speeding ticket.

All of this. "hot modules" is oK as a concept, but clearing the bounty *MUST* clear the modules as well. Otherwise it makes no sense and doesn't really serve much purpose.

Can i suggest that when you have all the kinks in the C&P system worked out that you work up an infographic to describe the crime and bounty flow.

You realise Professor Stephen Hawking died recently? Unfortunately he was probably your last true hope of such a explanation of the mechanics we now have!

Here's a suggestion! How about we just have "hot pilots", and you just clear them? Crazy notion I know!

I have to agree. The whole idea of 'hot ships' was not thought through nearly well enough, and the after-the-fact tweaking hasn't helped, only made it worse. It's so illogical...urgh.

Oh well...they tried hard, I'll give them that.
