Hotas for a lefty

Well after playing this game for an age with mouse and keyboard I finally brought my first flight stick a logitech extreme 3d pro index.jpg
It looked the most comfortable one I could use as a left hander and was pretty cheap.

Well its ok to use but not overly easy I have to use the stick right handed and use the buttons and throttle with my left, not brilliant though all those buttons has freed up my keyboard some what.
Anyway the point to this post, would it be possible to use one of those Hotas kits as a lefty? Are there any leftys that have tried it and got along fine? If so what would you recommend.
Thank you for any replies.

While I've heard of people remodelling their hotas for left handed use by casting their own plastic parts, I don't think you'll get very far with a right handed one if you have to ask this question. You might get on better with a pair of ambidextrous joysticks, disengage the springs on the axis used for throttle.

HOTAS left handed ? I'm afraid that doesn't exist. The throttles are all shaped to fit the left hand and have thumb buttons. Your best bet will probably be to run dual sticks, dual Thrustmaster T.16000M maybe. Other than that, only the Saitek Pro Flight Throttle Quadrant looks like it can be used with the right hand as well.

This one gets a lot of love. H.A.L.L sensors will basically last forever.

That doesn't look left hand to me..

Op, have a look at the Logitech attack 3, I used it for years combined with the throttle from a X52. I upgraded to a custom built hotas (left handed) but the attack 3 served me well.

Attack 3 closely resembles an a320 side stick, and can be used left or right handed, it is also incredibly cheap

The thumb grip pops off, and you attach it to the other side of the stick.

Your best bet is two of those, with a set of pedals for throttle. Dual stick seems to be the only way to go for lefties.

That's sounds awesome

Yeah. I'm an extreme left handed player because I have a moderate case of cerebral palsy. My right hand is near useless, and the T.16000M is the stick I've been using since early alpha. It's by far the best stick you'll find anywhere near that price range. I got mine for half off at Microcenter here in the U.S.

As the above posters have said, the Hall Effect Sensor is the same as the $600 Warthog HOTAS. It's THE most accurate stick you'll find. And I highly recommend it. Though in order of full disclosure, it's obvious that the hall sensor is where all the money went on it. The throttle on it lacks distance, so setting the in-game throttle to one-way with a button switching between forward and reverse thrust is almost mandatory.

The thumb buttons on top of the stick are also a tad on the mushy side. And the green LED light at the base of the stick can get a little annoying. But honestly, the accuracy of the stick itself more than makes up for it.

Highly recommended.

The thrustmaster T1600 is my lefty joystick of choice. I agree with Synthetic Frost, you need to set the throttle to one-way with a button to switch between back and forth.
