Hardware & Technical HOTAS Joystick on Mac OSX - Just successfully tested the Saitek Rhino X55

Has anyone found a solution for the complete lack of joystick calibration in both Elite and OS X? It seems like a pretty basic thing to be missing. I'm seeing wonky behavior from my analog stick that suggests it's out of calibration -- e.g., pitch rates that are different for up than for down. On Windows I've always been able to fix that by recalibrating. Am I missing something?

Elite handles joysticks quite well by default. And as joysticks are handled by OSXs input manager, they automatically calibrate as they are connected. Usually there is no problem with that.

The first thing i´d make sure is, if there might be some problems with the hardware. You could get one of the joystick testers from the Mac AppStore and test, if the axis ranges are fully operational (joystick show is 99 cents and allows you to check axis, buttons and hats).

Figured it out. The stick has a "precision" button that I accidentally pressed. It works in hardware and reduces the range by about half.
