Hardware & Technical HOTAS - Longterm Investment?

Hi all,

So when I bought this game I picked up a cheap HOTAS, a €45 Speedlink, to play this with. Now, after about 300 hours, the sensitive of both the joysticks has been very bumpy and quite annoying. I'm thinking of trading it in and getting a €100 Thrustmaster instead, but I'm wondering how long I'm likely to get out of a decent HOTAS. Do they usually last 2-3 years? Anyone know how much playtime you'll (roughly) get out of them?

Thanks,
HAL- 9000

My first CH Fighterstick managed 4000 hours before any issues started to bother me and my current Pro Throttle and Pro Pedals work as well as the day I received them, with 5000 hours on each.

I would say that €100 is going to get you more buttons and controls, but not necessarily better quality.
So I would say if you are happy using your present system, then stay in that price and replace as necessary. Or else keep saving and aim for top end products, CH or Warthog, AFAIK neither of these have a yaw twist on joystick, so pricing in pedals might have to be an option.
