HOTAS Master GamePlay Tip

Always ensure that when you logon to the game and undock, that your throttle is set to zero, rather than, say, to 100%. I would blame the cat if I had one...

hahaha yeah I made that mistake earlier today. I'm thinking of proposing a "Throttle down to engage engines" when undocking, similar to the "throttle up to jump".

I find it a great help to set a larger dead zone on the throttle axis for landing mode. It doesn't help if the throttle is way off, but stops me instantly flying forward or backward if my throttle wasn't completely dead-centre when I docked.

A way to get around the risk completely would be to set the dead zone to maximum and then only use manouevering thrusters when gear is down, meaning you should then only deploy your gear on your final approach to the pad.

Another tip. Don't forget you set throttle to entire range rather than just forward, leave a station, whack the throttle back and start playing with the menus...

I only realised at the last second that I had reversed backwards through the traffic, back through the docking bay and inches away from the rear of the hanger and was now subject to the local authorities!
