HOTAS office chair ERGOHUMAN + laptop arms = self contained flight chair

I am trying to make an all in one HOTAS chair that has a GREAT RANGE OF MOVEMENT in the HOTAS positioning.

My idea is to use the laptop arm as a substitute for the usual monitor arms such as Bracket Pole Mount Double Arm

Does anyone here with an ergohuman have any thoughts

Tried this but didn't like it...

This was my first attempt, now for sale.

That's pretty cool!

I'd show you MY rig, but I fear the shock might be potentially fatal - somewhere along these lines:

Hehe - whatever works, but GAWD is it ugly. Let's see...
I fly a center-stick; the joystick between my legs since as a (former) helicopter pilot, that is what I'm most familiar with. While the stick I have I'm happy with, I REALLY want that FFB of yours - I had one for years; easily the best stick ever made in terms of sheer accuracy and control. The center console is cleverly designed to look like the case of an old PC. SO cleverly disguised in fact, it still has the spiderwebs and dust over the fan vents. Since I live in an apartment, the landlord (rather rudely, I thought) denied permission to bolt it to the floor, so stability is achieved through the lack of manspreading.

Since I bought the one office chair that is somehow ergonomically even more uncomfortable than the pilot's seat of a Jetranger (and if you've never, just trust me on this), the back is padded by pillows. What it lacks in comfort, it makes up for in posture-enforcement...Victorian style.

The left-hand console is a brilliant example of creative engineering comprised of the box the joystick came in, the file drawer of my desk, the top drawer removed to prevent laceration, with solid stability achieved through the generous use of duct-tape and proper spacing provided by an upturned empty tuna can wedged down the side.
I'm a regular MacGyver!
:ROFLMAO:
LOL it's hideous - but it works. ;)

Cheers!

Hello OP.

No need for all of that hardware. You can build what you want for cheap.

Always awesome when folks build rigs! Makes me feel less an idiot for my own

Yipes, for that price, might as well buy a Herman Miller chair. I have a full mesh chair that I bought years ago. I had to repair the arms and wheels but it was less than half that price.

The chair was either from Staples or Office Max. US stores.
