HOTAS set up on the PS4

Has anyone started looking at how best to set one up in ED?

I've looked at some online for other platforms, but they appear to be missing some things. Maybe ED has a default set up for the TM.4 :)

Happy Fathers Day to all you ED dads out there. [up]

Currently PC is the only ED platform with HOTAS. XBOX will be getting one soon. Hopefully Thursday during the stream they will talk about the HOTAS setup on PS4 for ya.

Maybe I am incorrect, but I read where as the DS4 will have 6 axis the Hotas only has 5. But the Hotas has 12 buttons the DS4 10 not including triggers, and throttle controls.

Going with the saying, "less work is more appealing". I was wondering if there is a set up that will get me 90% of what I would need and focus on the remaining 10%. I suspect JStryver is correct, there will be a "recommended" set up where you can tweak for your needs.

Ready to start flying in space. Burnt out on War Thunder, already...

both controllers will be fully configurable to how you want to play, the in-game control setup has way more settings than i have ever actually used to play. if your interested in other peoples setups then just look into the PC ED part of the forum there are more than you could shake a stick at :)

HOTAS has all 6 axes available once setup.

I have up/down/left/right thrusters set up on the hat of the joystick, though I had to change that from the default setting that used the hat to set the pips (iirc, it's been a couple of years now)

Make sense. Where did you move the pip actions? Trying to get a feel from those who have a HOTAS and how they set up their stick based on experience.

Sorry for external links but when I tried to upload my images but no joy. Forum just says they are invalid with no explanation.

I am guessing the setup will be the same as the PC one initially but you can bind your own buttons.
I have put a blank PS4 HOTAS template together from other similar templates I found online.

Also, of your interested, you can find images of my HOTAS setup here.

Ugh... I hate Facebook :(

I have seen some PC setups, but they have a keyboard to work with unlike the PS4...

I have pips on the keyboard. I find those plus fire group switching, landing gear and supercruise/jump buttons are my main jeyboard use, unless I've voice attack on, in which case I'll use voice control instead of keyboard. I'm presuming/hoping that for PS4 I'll be able to have pips on the hat using one of the throttle buttons as a mode switch

Your insights would be appreciated if you can post how you set it up. Seems things would be easier if we had keyboard support for some things... Maybe down the road as an enhancement.
