Hardware & Technical HOTAS X52 i button not working

My i button isn't working tonight, was working yesterday. If I go to bindings and try and re assign i button, it is not detected?

if i go into windows controller and press i button it lights up so I know the button isn't broken...

any ideas anyone? When i press the i button the joystick flashes.

Replaced mine when it broke a couple of years ago so my memory is a little hazy, but is that the button on your throttle under your thumb? Does it blink when you hold it down? If so there's a toggle in the software somewhere called "Enable clutch" that overrides the binding on that button, try disabling that.

Run joy.cpl, select your X52, go to Properties, choose MFD tab, untick Enable Clutch Mode and OK

Three hours wasted try to sort this. JOY.CPL was accessible from control panel on previous versions of windows. Didn't realise it was still there and all I had to do was click on one tick!
