Hotkey for Subsytem Targetting

I know you can press Y (repeatedly) to cycle through subsystems when targetting someone, but what I'd like to know is whether there is a way to set a specific key to target a specific module (such as power systems / FSD, etc).

I want to program my Voice Attack for this, but currently I am forced to program the command to "Press 'Y' X times..." which doesn't take into account different loadouts, so is rather unreliable.

Trying to cycle through the masses of modules on an Anaconda while he heat-strips your shields off like an overenthusiastic Taxidermist is annoying.
What's worse is trying to find the FSD / Power system when your target has started firing up his jump drive...

I use wheelmouse for sub-system targetting, (it's on a table within easy reach) a simple roll forward/backwards cycles thru all the systems very easily. You soon get used to counting 4,5 or 6 'clicks' to target the powerplant for example. Found this effective & easy to use :)

I feel like an idiot that I never considered this. +Rep

You can use the left panel also, i admit ive never tried it yet (it's binded on joystick) but i think i will, it's the kind of thing that once youve done it a few times are fast to execute.

Ohhh! I like that... Yet another controller involved :)

OMG! Yes you should feel like an utter idiot for not considering and using it!

*sneaks off* and remaps it himself :)

The problem with macroing this in voice attack is that not all ships have the same modules..so you can't foresee a number of cycles to get to the right target.. I agree it is kind of annoying cycling..I just use the menu as it's faster.

Here are two options that are at least "easier" than cycling that you can consider:
(Both Use Voice Attack)

Option 1

Have Voice Attack open the Sub-Target Panel
Visually look at the list of sub-targets noting which number in the list is the item you want.
Example:
(1) Frameshift Drive
(2) Drives
(3) Power Plant
Set up commands to scroll down the list (default is W and S keys) and select (default Space)
Make voice commands like "Select 2" which would scroll down once and select. You could also do this with just key presses not voice, for instance setting 1, 2, 3, 4 etc keys to select those options.

Option 2
Set-up an automatic repeating cycle command
This one would simple cycle targets until you stop it.
Example:
Saying "Cycle Subtargets" would begin cycling
When target is reached say "Stop Cycle"
Again the above can be done with key presses as well, not only voice.
