So I should start this post by pointing out a few things:
1. I have had elite since the horizons launch back in December (I'm not a kickstarter backer / master of the universe)
2. I missed elite and frontier the first time round I did read about elite and the idea blew me away but white lines in a black screen did not beat GTA vice city (I haven't been gaming since before you were born.....whoever you are)
3. I wanted an Anaconda and did realise the quickest way was robigo runs *hides behind sofa* (Yes I did use the game exploit to play my own way)
4. I have 1.5 weeks of play time (this number is meant to say I have spent more than 2 seconds playing but I know it's nothing compared to some. It is not me trying to say how well I did, but more I feel my point is valid but I'm not the authority)
Anyway those points made there have been a lot of posts saying "I hate 2.1 I'm leaving and because of it Frontier should shut down" and also "OMG I love Elite so much I could DIE!!!"
(I'm totally in the second camp but that's not the point of the post) My post is actually for the people that are either enjoying 2.1 or trying to adapt to it.
For me I managed to get a D rated (at best) Anaconda in 2.0. I've played around 4 hours of 2.1 and have sold the Anaconda (my previous end game) to buy an a rated FDL and A rated Asp.
I have started using different ships for different missions. My tactics in the asp are no weapons just run in the FDL it's out-manoeuvre and kill. I love the fact I have to change my load out. in 2.0 I could have a D-rated "do everything" conda and not worry about any NPC now I have to think about it.
This post is NOT about whether the AI changes are right (I have some positive and negative thoughts about this and have posted in the main thread) I'd love to know how your play style has changed and we could maybe get some hints for those that want to adapt but are struggling.
The Elite community is second to non and I don't think anyone can argue with that so lets talk about how we are adapting to 2.1.
It would also be great to here about the Engineers I've spent all my time so far on missions I haven't even visited an Engineer yet!
