Every now and then, our player faction has what is called a “Fixed Weapons Friday” where we play 2v2 or 3v2 (with one of the 3 being a fast defenseless VIP to protect). We usually do this in small “low rebuy” ships with “report crimes” turned off. It’s great fun and some friendly competitive PVP action in our main system RES sites.
Our only rules are: nothing that locks or tracks a target ... meaning fixed weapons only, or weapons that can be set to forward fire only (like turrets). We do allow mines and dumbfire missiles, because they don’t target or track anything. And we allow any engineering on the small ships as well (making small stealthy ships really fun when hunting down the VIP). It’s a really cheap rebuy night that improves our flight skills ... and builds player faction rapport and camaraderie.
Why can’t Frontier create this type of big ship multicrew CQC ... loading up large ships with preset weapons packages, in various combat environments, in various game modes?
