How about a patch instead of full download?

In the past week, I've spent more time downloading this game than actually playing.

Is it not possible to PATCH the existing install instead of re-downloading the whole fricking thing?

My download times personally have not been long at all. A minute or two at most. Not sure what the deal is with everyone else.

When you hit 'Update' the first thing it does is compare what's on your computer to what's meant to be, that's the whole Syncing thing, this can take a while and the bar moves like it's downloading. Once that's done the actual downloading takes place, and yes it only downloads what is needed.

Compared to some other online games Elite Dangerous' patches are quite fast. Most of them in the past week were done in about a minute or so, past ones sometimes took a couple of minutes. I can deduce that definitely not the whole game was downloaded.

For me, E:D has been really nice to download and update, 200mb here, 80mb there. Most of my Steam games average 350mb ................and don't get me started With Star Citizen! 2.1 gigs here, 1.6(small update) gigs there.

Try Wasteland 2... Steam says there's an update to Wasteland 2 available, excellent, open downloads, it's 22Gb... Right click on Wasteland 2, Delete Local Content...
