For those people who cannot afford to spend thousand hours to grinds grind to the big and beautiful ships?
You just buy Plex and sell it ingame for ingame currency.

A media server? Sorry, I don't get it.
*Edit*Ah, a different game currency.
*throws dart* It's coming in season 5.

This idea was thoroughly rejected during the design phase of the game. There is a decidedly Anti-Eve disposition around here. Any indication that Elite is trending towards 'Eve in a cockpit' will draw opposition. An opposition I would join given the need. You're going to have to earn your ships and gear the way the rest of us have.

Of course it would be a good idea.

Those strongly against it can strongly choose not to buy it.

BTW...when in vice say it twice --at least twice ;)

Well the idea of PLEX (an EVE Online item) is to gain game time or sell it for in game money and buy ship/module whatever you want - but in EVE you wouldn't be able to use this ship/module/thing efficiently with out SKILLS that you have to train in real time.
PLEX in ED would simply meant literal "pay to win" and gain you access to imperial clippers/cutters from the day one.

So instead of paying to FDEV I need to hire some guy from China for a grind part of gameplay?
I am really don't like the grind part of game but other aspects are just awesome.

I don't see why it would be needed, other then, as you give example, for people to earn quick money through real money, which I do not approve of, nothing to do with Eve.
Add that PLEX in eve buys game time, and have an actual usage and are consumed, you'd need a similar consumption here to make it make sense and not end up being something that would go insane.

Edit: Ok to be fair slightly out of date but todays version is: Combat to Asp E in ~6-7hrs flight-time, maybe a CG or two. Do 2-3hrs of engineering to it for jump range. Then Passenger missions for the next 20 hours. Boom, Anaconda.

Certain passenger exploration missions pay 80mil+. Get 2 in an engineered Asp and you can do those in about 10hrs flightime.
Adding up the above that's ~30hrs to get approx 420mil credits. And the Anaconda can take 3-4 of the passenger missions.

Seriously though I don't think theres much of a market for this.

If you really have money to spare you could, you know, hire a nephew, niece or other person with free time to play the game for you. I mean it would be a lot of hours so...how much are you prepared to pay?

Lol j/k, but it is a terrible idea imo.

You know that the game is way too grindy when every other day people ask for ability to pay real money to developers so they can enjoy and progress in the game. I would prefer frontier make a-rating every ship 50% less expensive, rather than them adding cr to their shop. #Nerfthegrind

No. I tried playing Eve and hated it. I do not want to see E: D become more like Eve.

As to buying in-game credits with real money, I hate that too. Luckily FD has said that will never happen.

Thirdly, while some of the big ships are "beautiful" the Anaconda certainly isn't. Plus you can't just buy the other 2 big ships; you need to level up with the related factions, just to buy them. I'm really not sure why so many players lust after the biggest ships; they aren't as much fun to fly as some of the smaller ships and are a lot more expensive to maintain.

So true. Rep++

Cash for credits was ruled out from the start.
