how about fixing CQC?!!!

so decided to have a go at CQC.
what an absolute load of tripe it is.
no wonder no one plays it.
so after waiting an age to actually get a game, i am instantly put up against lvl 50 opponents.

there's is literally no fun in constantly getting ganked by total oles, that think its fun to use max spec ships on total newbies.

so here's a wonderful suggestion.

FIX IT OR REMOVE IT!!!

But it's fun OP that you're now even say that one is ganked in CQC of all things lmao.

If you weren't being put in the matches with the lvl 50 opponents ... you'd just be waiting endlessly for a match. The player population is nowhere near large enough to have the matches strictly divided by skill.

CQC isn't like Engineering - none of the available upgrades significantly increase the firepower or speed of your ship, they just let you tune it to suit your preferences slightly.

They're killing you because they've practiced a lot more. They'd kill you just the same if they used the same ship as you (some of them may be - anyone in a Condor is unlikely to be using any upgrade that isn't available at lvl 8, for example)

Every one of those lvl 50 players started out, like you, not knowing what they were doing and getting killed by everyone else. They got past that bit. Big things that help:
- pip management.
- grab the weapons powerup (the red one) for temporary double damage ... and more importantly, so no-one else has it!
- pip management. Seriously. The CQC distributors are stock C-rated. They're supposed to be constantly short on energy. If you don't shuffle your pips very actively, you're dead.
- map knowledge - where to run, where to hide, where to strike from
- did I mention pip management yet?
