And they can be very simple, using models that are already in the game.
In the FD store you could offer them. Small, medium, and large.
They could simply be standard bases like those in use, not even real bases, but like the little places where we used to go kill skimmers, with mainly a hangar and storage so we could move our ships and stored items there.
We would not even need to have fueling or starport capabilities.
We could fly to a station for that.
But I would happily part with $100 US, for a base with my name on a planet in a system of my choosing.
Basically just a place for my stuff, on a planet in a system I like, to where I could go BH, run cargo, search for materials, etc, in a system I have found that has everything I like to do.
The buildings could be generic buildings and no fancy stuff would be needed. Just hangar and storage space for my ships and stuff.
The only thing that would be unique but simple to implement would be my name on the signage.
Imagine going home to you own little planetary base before shutting down ED at bed time.
Heck, it would not even have to be listed in the gal map, just take my money, place my base on whatever planet in the system I choose, then email me the coordinates.
$100 dollars, sound good FD?
Might be the thing to help motivate me and help me fall back in love with ED again, light the spark so to speak.
$100 in the FD store, I can send it tonight, right now.
Think of the money you'd pocket, a lot of players would love their own little piece of property with their name on it.
I have $100 for you, just give me a hangar, a few generic stock buildings and blinking lights for looks and a sign with my name on it, on a planet you choose in a system I choose.
With all the systems, we'd never run out of space, even if everyone playing wanted a base in the bubble, and look at the hundreds of thousands, or even millions extra you'd make for something so simple.
