I just noticed (again) that FDev are giving back ships to people who played in open, with no weapons and no money for rebuy. I would suggest that you stop doing this because well.. why would a trader bother taking shields and weapons and rebuy, why stop and drop cargo for a pirate, why earn your money before buying a ship, if you are going to give them their ship back, anyways?
How about sticking to your own rules?

They only do it once I believe, mostly to keep retain the player, who may otherwise quit out of frustration, and then share their bad experience.
It may make no sense to you, but from a company standpoint, reputation is usually as important as profit.
I work for Tesco.com as a driver, and I see a similar thing happen all the time.
Customers basically forget they've ordered shopping and go out. We try to deliver and can't. So we bring it back to the store. They then ring saying they want their shopping.
Technically, we should charge for re-delivery, but we rarely do, because keeping the customer is more important then fleecing them for a tiny bit more money.
We only actually charge repeat offenders. Lol

In days of yore - I did ask Support to give me my ship back (if they could) but it was down to a bug at the time - dozy sod here used to fly without a rebuy just so I could earn that little bit more with a better fsd (this was way pre-engineers) and good enough on them, they restored my ship and gave me a few more credits to get me on my way.
There was a metaphorical pat on the head I guess and a there goes another noob into the black - wonder how long they'll last.......?

I don't believe it's worth anyone's time to get salty about some newbie who clearly doesn't know what he is doing and still believe that Open is a place full of friendly people.
These two quote are from the OP, he clearly sounds like a empathic and friendly folk. I wish we had more of his kind, and less of another kind in our game.
