How are you using the SRV Scorpion?

So I tried an Odyssey CZ but you can't maneuver inside the settlement. I was stuck on the outside of the settlement trying to shoot at a distance with rockets that don't kill and a very inaccurate plasma canon. I abandoned it halfway through.

Maybe you can only use it on certain maps?

I then tried to do an old Horizon mission that requires an SRV thinking it would make it easier with more firepower...it didn't.

I like the idea of a tank SRV but I am not really sure what exactly it is good for.

Scorpion tears up Horizons bases more than the Scarab, unless they have air support ships, then it's easily countered.

People will still end up using Scarab as we dont know whats the purpose of Scorpion in game.... Scarab still has better performance in combat and more durable than Scorpion.

Yes it looks good, sounds good and drives and handles well. The main weapon is useless unless you are firing at a ship or other large object. The scorpions introduction has simply elevated the usefulness of the scarab.

I have only spent a couple of hours using a Scorpion, including doing several CZs. The cannon has a bit of a strange firing sequence. Aim, press the trigger and keep the trigger depressed (and the cannon firing). The first rounds will be all over the place, but accuracy is established and then rounds are relatively on target and kill. I noticed one CZ where it was taking about 50 rounds to kill an NPC. You cannot fire short bursts, you are committed once the trigger is pulled. You also want to avoid the target getting behind cover, otherwise the sequence will have to start again. The Scorpion's cannon seems to burn through ammo faster than the Scarabs weapon.

My current thoughts are use a Scarab for CZs and a Scorpion for settlement raids.

Niche, but I'm finding it very good as an ice-world exobiology taxi where its lower acceleration than the Scarab is more than compensated for by not spinning out every time you make a slight turn. I'll keep the Scarab for rock worlds, though.

Haven't used it yet, but based on what I've read here and reddit and what I've seen on youtube, I'd probably use the scorpion for making pictures (and look cool) and use the "non-combat" SRV for actual combat (it's waaaay more effective at combat).

I really hope they fix the jitter... As of now it looks like this thing was made for imperial stormtroopers.
