How can i bookmark a crash site on a planet surface?

How can i bookmark a crash site on a planet surface? I would like to come back to this site with out going to all the trouble finding it again.

You can't.

But you can bookmark the planet, and add the coordinates to the bookmarks name.
Atleast, that's what I do.

^ this ^

also, if you scan the crashed ship itself when you're on the surface, next time you fly to the bookmarked system the crash site should appear in your nav panel when you're getting close to the planet

EDIT - I say should, there have been times when it hasn't done so coordinates in the bookmark are a good belt n braces approach

Yes they are...

... except for some weirdness around some POI - if you haven't been to Jamesons Cobra in HIP 12099 then try it: POI is revealed in FSS, but DSS doesn't show it, until you get within a few 100km, then it reappears again, vanishes in glide and reappears as you exit glide. Hopefully once FDev have fixed all the 'my hair is on fire!' bugs they can look at it ;) (yes, I raise it as a bug)

I just take a screenshot of the coords and system name on the HUD. A program called E.D.I.S.ON can also bookmark it for you, and provide audio guidance to your bookmarked location.

Also works in Virtual reality, you can have the window tucked away somewhere on the bridge of the ship.
